Bill Nuckolls and Robert Lazo will collaborate on a joint art exhibit at City Gallery, Fine Art beginning with an opening reception Friday, May 11, 2007, from 5 to 8PM. The public is invited to attend and meet the artists.
Nuckolls is a wood carver specializing in elaborately detailed and finely rendered birds, painted and often placed on fenceposts, barbed wire, or tree limbs. He crafts his birds in his home woodshop, and spends most of his free time away from the pharmacies where he works, creating birds so realistic one expects them to break into song.
Lazo, a local physician, is a landscape painter in love with color. His somewhat surrealistic palette means the colors you see may not be readliy found in nature (purple and pink seem to show up in many-a-hillside) but the finished pieces are bright, lively, and you may find yourself wishing your backyard looked this good.
This pharmacist/doctor show, just in time for Spring songbirds and meadows coming to life with color, will run through most of June.
